Bald Eagle close up
Fine details of an eagles face
Mine
An aggressive (hungry) Bald Eagle chased another eagle off what remains of this salmon. The heads are often all that is left after the feast has subsided, so for those still hungry, they are a prize.
Lift Off
A Bald Eagle takes flight from a high perch in the Squamish Valley.
Juvenile Bald Eagle
Perched on this very popular branch, a Juvenile Bald Eagle with the most impressive plumage I have ever seen on a young eagle watches two gulls duking it out for Salmon scraps on the river bank below.
Guardian
With a wingspan of over 2 meters, Bald Eagles are impressively large birds of prey. This one wheeled around a couple of times quite low and pretty close to my position and gave me some good appreciation for it's size.
Lunch Break
Adult Bald Eagle takes a rest from gorging on Salmon to soak up some sun and dry out.
Preen
A Bald Eagle attempts to tidy up a messy section of plumage on a chilly winter morning.
